This publication presents results of a study of the potential and real situation in the Slovak market for selected agricultural produce and processed agricultural produce used for food, feed and non-food needs. Competitiveness of Slovak products was evaluated in relation to indicators of foreign trade with selected EU states (Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Austria) and third countries (Russia, Croatia and Ukraine). Methodology of the evaluation procedure is described. The results section is divided into the following chapters: The situation in agriculture (structure and indicators of production, prices of inputs, produce – milk, cattle, swine, goats, sheep, poultry and eggs, crops, oil crops, fruits and vegetables, grapes, medicinal and aromatic plants); The situation in food industry; and Evaluation of competitiveness based on indicators of foreign trade.
